MARINE BIOLOGY LAPBOOK

I am trying to catch up on posting my boy's lapbooks. Some of them are recent and some of them are not, but I refer to my lapbooks and need to get them established.

This one is done by my 13 yo son. He did Marine Biology from Apologia last year (7th grade) and did a lapbook. He did it himself with very little help. The only help I gave was for the assembly of the lapbook. Before I begin, I will just tell you that this is a very large lapbook and has 6 extensions in it.

Below is the cover:



Below is as you open it up, on the top you see the different Temperatures of the Oceans. Below is his vocabulary, shaped like clams. In the center left is the Birds of the Ocean and on the right, the different classifications of living things in the ocean and their categories. To the right is a trifold book, cut out like a jelly fish. When you open it, there is a narration of the Medusa Jellyfish.




When you open it up to the top, the top center is descriptions of a shark, scorpionfish, octopus and blowfish. Below it is a 4 door book talking about the different changes and effects on Marine Biology (ie oil spill, trash, climate changes and Environmental). Below there is the different migrations of the sea. There is a map and above are mini booklets with drawings of each animal migrator and it tells about them inside.



When you open the other top extension, you see at the top the anatomy of a crab and a story that he wrote about a Blue Whale and his friends. Below is a pie circle (don't know what they are called) with the food chain.



Now when you fold the center extension down, you have at the bottom the story about How the Sperm Whale Dives and to the right a trifold booklet on the Anatomy of a Dogfish Shark. Up above in the middle is the anatomy of a starfish and the anatomy of a clam.



Now when I fold the center extension to the right, in the center (back), you have these flaps that open and he describes different animals in the ocean and marine life with little diecuts. To the right is the zones of the the marine environment.




Now open the center extension to the right, and you will find on the left hand side, What do these whales eat with mini books talking about them and to the right shaped like a bible, all of the bible verses he memorized about oceans and marine life in the bible.



Now we are going to open the LAST flap, lol. To the right of How do these Whales eat, we have a layered book on the top talking about Fish Gills and types and descriptions and at the bottom he talks about exoskeletons. To the right, top is how to make a Hogfish knot and at the bottom right about different worms (tape, flat, ribbon).
