I am not much for pagaeants. I don't watch them.
1 Samuel 16:7
But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart."
I don't like them, but when I heard how Miss California lost her crown because she stood up for her beliefs, I decided to watch the clip. WOW! This lady knew that she would lose the crown by standing up for her beliefs and not be politically correct. I applaud her! Bravo! She was trained right! Her parents and the Lord above is proud and so are we!

Here is her response at the Today show, where she knocks it out of the ballpark!

We started off the day talking about the Boston Tea Party and going over it. The boys asked WHY we talked about that. When I told them about the Tea Party, there was an excitement in the boys of being involved ::grin:: They had their signs made in about 10 minutes!! We WANTED to go to the rally in Atlanta, but were unable to. But we DID find out that there was a local one. It was a smaller rally, BUT effective nonetheless. It was monumental and I was greatful to be a part of it and allow the boys to be a part of it. They NEED to be a part of this, because they will be in for a HUGE fight in their generations. It will be THEIR generations (children, grandchildren, etc) that WILL pay for the decisions being made today!

Easter Sunday!
We had a blessed time on Easter. Had a great sermon at church. We came home and got ready for my inlaws and Grandmother to come over. They came around 2 pm and we had Ham, mashed potatoes, fresh green beans, deviled eggs, corn and I made yeast rolls like Ryans/Golden Corral serves (complete with honey butter, mmmm). We had a geat time visiting. They brought 3 boxes full of books from Aaron's grandfather, who was a pastor. We have had fun looking through those. Joshua played the piano and so did Grandma. The other guys were outside throwing a football around. It was in the 70's that day, clear, Sunny and just an absolutely georgeous day!

Whirlwind Weekend!
Saturday, What an absolutely glorious and beautiful day! It was in the 70's and it was just perfect!! We put in more square foot boxes. 5 to be exact. We got them all assembled and then started to put them together when the phone rang. It was my best friend in Alabama. At first, we were supposed to go to AL to pick up a 3,000 lb wheat order at 8-9 am, then it changed to 2-3 pm, so we were doing what we needed to around the house. She (Joy) had called me to tell me that it was now changed to Noon! Umm, okay! Praise the Lord it is only 2 HOUR trip and we gain and hour. So we hurried best we could and got there right AT noon. The driver didn't arrive until about 12:45 pm but we got the things counted, loaded and we were on our way home with the wheat (It wasn't all mine). On our way home, we met a friend that had 20 of those 54 50 lb bags and dropped those off. We came home, unloaded and seperated the wheat in the garage. I knew that Sunday was our family birthday celebration, celebrating 3 of them, so between waiting for the girls to pick up their wheat, cooking and cleaning for Sunday we were busy.
We did devotional and church at home for our Palm Sunday. Sometimes those are the sweetest times. Joshua played the piano while we sang our hymns. He is doing so well and is MUCH improved (by a country mile) from his previous teacher. I just hope we can keep this one a long time, but her health is failing. We finished cleaning and getting ready for the birthday parties. We had so much fun here. We had my parents, my brother and his kids and us. Lets see, 6 adults, 6 kids and 2 dogs....FUN! We celebrated our youngest Luke, who had his 10th birthday on the 30th, my sil, Angie's who's was also on the 30th and my nephew's, who's isn't until the 10th but with them (my nephews) being at youth camp all week and Easter, we did it with the others. I am so glad we did. I was SO exhausted Sunday night....
Wait where did that nice weather go?? Monday we woke up to highs in the 40's and high winds. BRRRRR!!! I have been pouring over many books on Seed saving and other things. One of my faves as of late is the Oven drying book. It is from a lady that was missionary and she didn't have adequate refrigeration/freezer access so she freeze dried all. So thinking upon that, one thing that I run out of quite frequently that would love to have around like that is eggs. I have been freeze drying eggs. It is easier than you think. I will begin on fruits etc later. I am loving that book and about to order it from Amazon knowing I will have to return it soon back to the library.
Monday, we did school and took Joshua to piano. He is getting ready for the Guild. I am SO glad we switched teachers. What a blessing. She doesn't just put them in "competition", because it doesn't show what they now but how they can play. The guild tests not only how they play, but their fingering, their tempo, their theory, EVERYHING. We got there at 2:30 and were supposed to have a 30 minute lesson but were there until 4:15pm. LONG day, but worth it. We then stopped by my friends house and picked up some buckets for wheat storage and came home. I made chili and we had a nice night.
I was excited that my mom brought me a present that she won at the Chinese auction at the Samboree. It was a Belgium (sp) waffle maker, like they have in the hotels. We put that to work this morning. They were so good! I just used hard white wheat that I already had in the freezer. While I was doing this, our 10 yo, looked out the door to SNOW, in GA, in April! Weird! It is VERY cold outside though and I dread having to get out later. It will get below freezing tonight too.
Today we got up and did school again. Still working on it. The boys are doing a weather lapbook. They have finished their history for this year and are trying to wrap things up. They are trying to finish their Georgia State History, their Latin, math, etc, although we go year round. Later on, I need to go get Joshua's glasses fixed, Joseph's shots, go by the library, take the youngest two to chess, etc.
May you have a blessed day!

I have mentioned in my previous posts about my homemade recipes.
I am LOVING my homemade, all natural deoderant. Since I get my coconut oil at less than HALF price from ebay, this recipe is CHEAPER than ANY all natural deoderant on the market. We are talking PENNIES....The only change I will make next time is to add a touch of Tea Tree oil. I put all of the ingredients into a pint jar. It hardens, just like regular deoderant and the warmth of my fingers allows me to scoop it out. Here is what I do:
1/2 c baking soda
1/2 c cornstarch
enough melted coconut oil to make a paste
(you can also add your tea tree oil and/or essential oils, which can be found in many stores and is a natural antesceptic!)
BTW, I have a friend that has succcessfully only used baking soda and coconut oil and has had great success too!
If you don't know about Aluminum and the links to it and breast cancer , you can click on the link to find out more.
Pour into pint jar while it is liquid. It will eventually harden. I have been using it exclusively now for a while and have enjoyed it, greatly!
I also have done a post about Making your own laundry and dishwashing detergents!
I have more to add to it (Yippee!)
All Natural Fabric softner!
Add 1 cup of Vinegar
It is all natural and works great!
Here is another one for BOTH top Loading and front loading washing machines:
Homemade Liquid Laundry Soap- Front or top load machine- best value
4 Cups hot tap water
1 Fels-Naptha soap bar
1 Cup Washing Soda
½ Cup Borax
- Grate bar of soap and add to saucepan with water. Stir continually over medium-low heat until soap dissolves and is melted.
-Fill a 5 gallon bucket half full of hot tap water. Add melted soap, washing soda and Borax. Stir well until all powder is dissolved. Fill bucket to top with more hot water. Stir, cover and let sit overnight to thicken.
-Stir and fill a used, clean, laundry soap dispenser half full with soap and then fill rest of way with water. Shake before each use. (will gel)
-Optional: You can add 10-15 drops of essential oil per 2 gallons. Add once soap has cooled. Ideas: lavender, rosemary, tea tree oil.
-Yield: Liquid soap recipe makes 10 gallons.
-Top Load Machine- 5/8 Cup per load (Approx. 180 loads)
-Front Load Machines- ¼ Cup per load (Approx. 640 loads)

Yesterday we had fun watching a little American Robin, build her nest in one of our gutters on the back of our house. Unfortunately, the wind blew it down today, but we got pictures of her in action.

Today we did school and set goals before my family comes over on Sunday. We also had to go run errands today. I got more materials to build 5 more sq ft boxes, so we will be busy tomorrow. I will update later.
