This is a prayer said by Pastor Joe Wright in the Kansas Legislature in 1996 that led to much controversy.
Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask Your forgiveness and to seek Your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says, "Woe to those who call evil good," but that is exactly what we have done. We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values.
We confess:
We have ridiculed the absolute truth of Your Word and called it Pluralism.
We have worshipped other gods and called it multiculturalism.
We have endorsed perversion and called it alternative lifestyle.
We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery.
We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare.
We have killed our unborn and called it choice.
We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable.
We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self-esteem.
We have abused power and called it politics.
We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition.
We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression.
We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment.
Search us, Oh God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from every sin and set us free.
Guide and bless these men and women who have been sent to direct us to the center of your will. I ask it in the Name of Your Son, the living Savior, Jesus Christ.
Amen.

I am not much for pagaeants. I don't watch them.
1 Samuel 16:7
But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart."
I don't like them, but when I heard how Miss California lost her crown because she stood up for her beliefs, I decided to watch the clip. WOW! This lady knew that she would lose the crown by standing up for her beliefs and not be politically correct. I applaud her! Bravo! She was trained right! Her parents and the Lord above is proud and so are we!
Here is her question at the pageant:
Here is her response at the Today show, where she knocks it out of the ballpark!

We started off the day talking about the Boston Tea Party and going over it. The boys asked WHY we talked about that. When I told them about the Tea Party, there was an excitement in the boys of being involved ::grin:: They had their signs made in about 10 minutes!! We WANTED to go to the rally in Atlanta, but were unable to. But we DID find out that there was a local one. It was a smaller rally, BUT effective nonetheless. It was monumental and I was greatful to be a part of it and allow the boys to be a part of it. They NEED to be a part of this, because they will be in for a HUGE fight in their generations. It will be THEIR generations (children, grandchildren, etc) that WILL pay for the decisions being made today!

What Obama might have said if he did NOT use a teleprompter:
Here's what he may have said...I don't know...this is plagiarism sprinkled with conjecture:
"My fellow subjects:
I stand here today arrogant, but completely unprepared for the task before us, grateful for your stupidity in having elected me, oblivious of the sacrifices, laws and traditions borne by our ancestors. I thank President Bush for his service to our nation, you dimwitted ninny, as well as the generosity and cooperation he has shown throughout this transition, particularly when he wouldn’t let my family move here 2 weeks early and stay in the Blair House, so we had to go homeless until now.
Forty-four Americans have now taken the presidential oath. The first 43 were just keeping the podium warm for me. The words have been spoken during rising tides of prosperity and the still waters of peace. And just about everyone of them…until me…got them right. Yet, every so often the oath is taken amidst gathering clouds and raging storms – clouds and storms that I will whip into frenzied tornadoes, hurricanes, and downpours, to flood the earth for 40 days and 40 nights. At these moments, America has usually carried on not simply because of the skill or vision of those in high office, but because We the People (except after I get done with this speech and set Rhambo to work on your freedoms) have remained faithful to the ideals of our forbearers, and true to our founding documents. Not that I know any names of our forbearers, or have read any of our founding documents.
So it has been. So it must be with this generation of Americans. Man, I watch The Ten Commandments every other week, and just LOVE the line, “So let it be written, so let it be done”…but that’s about all I know about Christian history.
That we are in the midst of crisis is now well understood – not by me, though…in fact, in March, when the Dow dives 25% from the beginning of this year, I will tell you: “The market is sort of like a tracking poll in politics. It bobs up and down, day to day, and if you spend all your time worrying about that, then you're probably going to get the long-term strategy wrong.” And I WON’T use this Golden Teleprompter right here in front of me when I do it!…(I just WISH you could hear what’s going on in my head, folks. Really. ‘Cause I just don’t got nothin’ for ya). Our nation is at war, against a far-reaching network of violence and hatred (and I’m going to ask them all to have tea and scones with Michelle and I, to settle our differences). Our economy is badly weakened, and I know it was all done by bad government policy, but I’m still going to tell you it was greedy, irresponsible bankers who did it.
Less measurable but no less profound will be a sapping of confidence across our land every time I open my mouth and tell you of a nagging fear that America's decline is inevitable, and that the next generation must lower its sights, thanks to the debt I’m going to heap upon your children.
Today I say to you that the challenges we face are real, but I don’t care. I’m just here for the stately dinners, to have my portrait on the wall, and to tick off the Brits when they come begging for my help.
On this day, we gather because we have chosen hope over fear, so that I can turn right around and take away hope by preaching fear. On this day, we come to proclaim that I am the Messiah and full of false promises, that I will renew recriminations and worn out dogmas, that I’m more than happy to strangle your freedoms.
We remain a young nation, but in the words of Scripture (some guy told me, ‘cause I read the Quran and really don’t know Scripture) the time has come to set aside childish things, unless those things are mine. The time has come to reaffirm our enduring spirit, unless I want to break it; to choose our better history, unless I haven’t learned from it.
I’m going to talk in my real speech now about the men and women who have protected our country for more than 200 years, but they’re fools…and I don’t like them, so I’ll just shut down for a few paragraphs while my zombie eyes read from the Golden Presidential Teleprompter.
This is the journey we continue today. Our workers are no less productive than when this crisis began…well…then again they WILL be when unemployment hurdles 10%. Our minds are no less inventive, our goods and services no less needed than they were last week or last month or last year.
We remain the most prosperous, powerful nation on Earth until I get through with it.

Be informed.....STAY informed.........
My friend, Amy, has a great and informative post right now on:
Universal Healthcare....
Here is an excerpt:
Sometimes there just aren’t words to say what I’m feeling. It’s not often that I’m without words. I usually have a lot to say. I would like to thank Mr. Tom Daschle for sponsoring this wordless moment.
What disturbs me more, is what Mr. Daschle said a year ago which prompted things to happen as they did. His disturbing words?

United States No More???
Huh!?? When I received information from my friend Amy, I was a little scared and a little in disbelief. At first she had send me several links, telling me that 10 states are working on filing sovereignty under the 10th Ammendment. Here is an excerpt from Amy :
"Basically, if the government declares marshall law, furthur restricts our 1st Amendment rights (through a "hate-protection" amendment), furthur restricts our 2nd amendment rights including attempting to limit the type & amount of arms & ammunitions we can have, or attempts to force civil service (as Rahm Emmanual said he intends to do for EVERY citizen between 18-25 as well as mandatory FEDERAL civil service for all children 8-18), then the government will have nullified the Constitution and the states writing these will become Independent nations. Should another federal government attempt to take control of these states, they can only do so through 3/4ths approval of the states declaring such and if the states don't agree, then the government (whether approved by other states or not) doesn't have control over those states. They are prepared to enforce their 9th & 10th amendment rights via force if necessary.
NH started it and then (on February 2nd) 9 others states had followed suite. Then this article was released that up to 21 states have filed sovereignty. I am quite frankly shocked that I haven't heard this from some of my favorite conservative talk show hosts. Very scary folks. I am thankful to be a part of one of those states though that takes their rights seriously.
If you aren't already, we need to be in some serious prayer folks. All around us....

The Passing of A Dear Friend, Common Sense
An Obituary printed in the London Times
Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who
has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was,
since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He
will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as:
Knowing when to come in out of the rain; Why the early bird gets the
worm; Life isn't always fair; and maybe it was my fault.
Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend
more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children,
are in charge).
His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but
overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6-year-old boy
charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended
from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for
reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.
Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the
job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly
children.
It declined even further when schools were required to get parental
consent to administer sun lotion or an Aspirin to a student; but could
not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an
abortion.
Common Sense lost the will to live as the churches became businesses;
and criminals received better treatment than their victims.
Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a
burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault.
Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to
realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in
her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.
Common Sense was preceded in death, by his parents, Truth and Trust, by
his wife, Discretion, by his daughter, Responsibility, and by his son, Reason.
He is survived by his 4 stepbrothers;
I Know My Rights
I Want It Now
Someone Else Is To Blame
I'm A Victim
Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone.

Comparison between Bush and other Presidents
Last Week:
1. Outgoing President George W. Bush quietly boards his helicopter and leaves for Texas, commenting only: "Today is not about me. Today is a historical day for our nation and people."
Eight years ago last week:
1. Outgoing President Bill Clinton schedules two separate radio addresses to the nation, and organizes a public farewell speech/ rally in downtown Washington D.C. scheduled to directly conflict with incoming President Bush's inauguration ceremony.
Last Week:
2. President Bush leaves office without issuing a single Presidential pardon, only granting a commutation of sentence to two former border patrol agents convicted of shooting a convicted drug smuggler. He does not grant any type of clemency to Scooter Libby or any other former political aide, ally, or business partner.
Eight years ago last week:
2. President Clinton issues 140 pardons and several commutations of sentence on his final day in office. Included in these are: billionaire financier, convicted tax evader, and leading Democratic campaign contributor Marc Rich; Whitewater scandal figure Susan McDougal; Congressional Post Office Scandal figure and former Democratic Congressman Dan Rostenkowski; convicted bank fraud, sexual assault and child porn perpetrator and former Democratic Congressman Melvin Reynolds; and convicted drug felon Roger Clinton, the President's half-brother.
Last Week:
3. The Bush daughters leave gift baskets in the White House bedrooms for the Obama daughters, containing flowers, candy, stuffed animals, DVD's and CD's, and heartfelt notes of encouragement and advice for the young girls on how to prepare for their new lives in the White House.
Eight years ago last week:
3. Clinton and Gore staffers rip computer wires and electrical outlets from the White House walls, stuff piles of notebook papers into the White House toilets, systematically remove the letter "W" from every computer key-pad in the entire White House, and damage several thousand dollars worth of furniture in the White House master bedroom.
Headlines 4 Years Ago:
"Republicans spending $42 million on inauguration while troops Die in unarmored Humvees"
"Bush extravagance exceeds any reason during tough economic times"
"Fat cats get their $42 million inauguration party, Ordinary Americans get the shaft"
Headlines Last Week:
"Historic Obama Inauguration will cost only $170 million"
"Obama Spends $170 million on inauguration; America Needs A Big Party"
"Everyman Obama shows America how to celebrate"

It has been busy, like everyone else but I am still keeping an eye on a few things. One is the New Administration in DC and the other one is the CPSIA. I, like many of you, was not happy that our Government wants to BORROW another $800 million dollars for a "boost" to the economy. We don't own our country anymore. China and others do. Now, while I was in our car and on our way home from taking our son to piano, I was in complete SHOCK and bewilderedment that Nancy Pelosi has decided that Birth Control will boost the economy. This woman is a 5 time MOTHER and a 6 time grandmother, and she thinks that somehow pushing birth control and the number of children to be had, is the way to go. Children are now somehow a BURDEN to our economy? Please help me here. I am in complete shock. Children are supposed to be seen as blessings, and not burdens. For more insight on this subject, I cannot get enough of Voddie Baucham. He did an absolutely fabulous job of relaying a message at the Southern Baptist convention in Texas on The Centrality of the Home.

Seeing that my friend Angie at Kudzu Grows posted this I thought it was too good not to pass along to others. Those close to me know I love Voddie Baucham and his leadership. He has an interesting debate on CNN about Sarah Palin as VP.

I have been dismayed by the people who are willing to support Obama, just because he is black ("just to make history"). Just recently I found out that he supported legislation in IL while there, that when aborted babies were born ALIVE and premature, they were left there to suffer and die. I mean this is just one more thing that adds to my fear, if he were to get into office. I was enlightened by the following video....
