Well today is going to be a fun day. It looks like it will be in the Glorious 60 degree range. Whoo! We are getting the house ready for Tuesday night, when about 40of my homeschool mom friends will all be at our house for "Mom's night out". Fun, fun! Also a friend of mine is taking her boys to the Capitol for homeschool day (I am upset that I missed signing up for it) and so I am watching her two younger girls. Her hubby is a pilot and gone for the next 4 days.

On my SHS list, one of our list members is Fiona. She is a homeschool mom, who happens to be a native Zimbabwean farmer (she and her family). The have been under duress and persecution for the last few years. They have been through so much. It is nothing short of a miracle that they have kept their farm, although Mugabe has been trying to give it away and her husband has constantly been threatned with jail time. For the last year and a half, we have been sending boxes to them and sending them much needed supplies (including food!). Many of us from our SHS list has been sending her boxes. She has said many times, that she doesn't know how they would have survived otherwise without the boxes. In November, we sent her family a box, hoping they would get it around Christmas time but knowing that it might be after. We did that last year. Sent them a box in November and they got it in MAY.

Anyway, I sent Fiona an email in November. She said thank you for the box, but things have gotten SO incredibly bad. People are starving and they are desperate! We try and always give them things that we take for granted. We have been doing it for so long, that we know what to send. She told me that boxes are not reliable and if it is suspected that there is food or supplies of ANY kind, that they are stolen and they "just disappear". I was really dismayed and then thought that hopefully it would bless whoever stole it. We had pretty much resigned the fact that the box would never reach her and never get to her. Well, what a blessing it was to get an email today from Fiona, saying that she had received our box. She said that she was so thankful, that it was a blessing and that she would love to be near me to give me a thousand kisses and hugs. I was on cloud 9! Made my day and the kids too. They help me carefully pack the boxes. We pray for them constantly. We do the same for my cousin, Steve who is in his second tour in Iraq.

It is supposed to be a pretty day. Aaron is working from home. We are also going to try and start digging for our berry bushes. The kids are excited to plant them. The kids did double school yesterday so they are pretty good today. They have odds and ends to do, but nothing major.

I also need to make a shopping list and coupon list. I need to hit the stores before the sales run out tomorrow.
