J Alexander's Steak Maui recipe

One of our favorite restaurants is J Alexanders.  For the Price of $32 (ouch), you can have their infamous Steak Maui!  We have gone there for the last 15 years or so and it is my favorite by far.  Their food is fantastic!  After Doing some research, asking specific questions of our waiter (who knew all of the recipe ingredients) and my friend google.......I have found the recipe.  Those wonderful steaks are now marinading in my fridge.  They need to marinade for ATLEAST 3 days.......the average is 3-5!
  • 1/3 cup of honey (I used more like 1/2 c and used wildflower, which is a darker honey and very thick and raw)
  • 6 oz can of pineapple juice
  • 1/3 cup of lite soy sauce (or low sodium)
  • 1/2 cup of brown sugar
  • 2 minced garlic cloves or 2 tsp of garlic powder
  • 2 tsp minced ginger or 1 tsp of ginger powder
I mixed all of these together in a big bowl.  You can heat it and then cool but I didn't do that.  PLEASE taste it.  You might need to add more honey, brown sugar or pineapple juice to your liking.  I then have my ribeyes/NY strip steaks marinading in the sauce in a ziploc in the fridge :)
Enjoy!  Please let me know how it comes out!  Next I am working on the smoked salmon Dip!  Another Favorite :)
