Since moving from AL to GA, I have been WAAAAY less than thrilled with our libraries here! Well lets put it this way-It Stinks! I MISS Alabama!! Not only that we are paying THREE TIMES MORE in property taxes-So going to the library and not having books I want that is available is VERY frustrating! Well believe it or not, we were in the library and I picked up a book but didn't know what it was , really until I brought it home. It is WONDERFUL!! It is called Exploring Math with Books Kids Love and it allows you to use LIVING books to help either teach and integrate math or to reinforce it! The author is Kathryn Kaczmarski. You think that this is little, elementary?? NOPE! This is for middle and immediate levels!
There are people on my favorite Yahoo group that use Living Math, but this is the first time I have seen it for myself and I am thrilled. I just renewed the book for the second time and ended up ordering it used off of Amazon, because I cannot get enough of it.
I guess Douglasville library is good for one thing, but I still miss Alabama. But hey, we are going tomorrow to visit with some our our dear friends and having bread baking day, YEAH!@! Oh what fun! We are looking forward to it!

And what an awesome bread baking day it was too! Needless to say that bread is goner than gone!! Thank you so much for going to all the trouble and expense to come and share that with me! I truly loved every minute of it!!! Can we do it every Tuesday??

I am so glad you guys enjoyed it and the girls got good baking experience on how to cook with whole grains.
I am disappointed with my loaves though. I tend to be a perfectionist and my bread is hardly ever that small. JL's was lower too, so I think with the rain and humidity, it affected the rising of the loaves. I wished I had added (or had) Lethicin, but didn't. I will get some though.
Then again, next time I go to www.wholegrainsandmore.com I could pick you guys up some stuff and gives me ANOTHER excuse to come over there ;o), but then again, you could come over here and get it and gives you an excuse to come see us, lol. Hmmm, thinking.
I will let you know next time we are there.
