30 Days of ………..JOY!
30 DAYS OF JOY!
Well the snack mix from Yesterday was delivered and today we began to work on tomorrow's little surprise. We are doing "Gifts in a Jar". It is SO easy!
The first one is Chocolate Chip Cookies In a Jar:
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
2 c flour (I used soft white wheat)
1 c brown sugar
1/2 c granulated sugar
1 1/2 c chocolate chips
Mix salt, baking soda and flour together and put into a wide mouth canning jar. Then layer remaining ingredients in order, pressing them down as you go with the chocolate chips on top. Use scissors to cut a 9" diameter circle from fabric (I am using christmas). Place over lid with rubber band and tie with raffia or ribbon.
I typed out on a 2x4 label but you can do it on a card or tag this info:
Chocolate Chip Cookies
Contents in a Jar
1 c unsalted butter or margarine
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla
Preheat oven to 375. Sift dry ingredients through a collander, leaving just the chips in. Mix butter in a mixer or medium bowl until creamy. Add dry ingredients until blended. Mix egg and vanilla in another bowl and add to the other ingredients. Add chips. Drop on cookie sheet, spaced well apart. Bake 8 minutes or until browned. Makes 4 dozen.
Here is another one:
Oatmeal Cookie Mix
1 c flour 1/2 c brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon 3/4 c sugar
1/2 tsp nutmeg 1 c raisins
1 tsp baking soda 2 cups oatmeal
1/2 tsp salt
In a bowl, mix flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking soda and salt. Set aside. Layer remaining ingredients in order given in a one qt. wide mouth canning jar. Pack down after every addition. Add flour mix on top.
Attach this to the jar:
3/4 butter
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
Mix until completely blended. You will need to use your hands to finish mixing, if doing it by hand. Shape into balls to shapes of walnuts. Place 2" apart on greased cookie sheets. Bake at 350 for 11-13 minutes. Cool for 5 minutes. Makes 3 dozen.
