BUSTED! LOL
I am referring to our 30 days of Joy Box in this next post. If you would like to know more, just click on the link.
I received a phone call last night from our neighbor asking if I was their "secret Santa". I had to admit that I was. Her first response warmed my heart. She said, "Well you must have just known how hard a week we have had. Our daughter just had her second knee replacement surgery in 6 weeks and we have been there day and night." They are elderly and SO sweet. I told them it wasn't over and you never know what might end up there next lol. Later this afternoon, I took them some oatmeal apple muffins I made from the Fresh from the Oven book . They were thrilled, but tired.
Then while I was out taking pictures of the boys for our Christmas card, our neighbor to the left came to the fence and asked if I was their Santa. I said Yes. You know he said they were thrilled and then I found out he is going to Iraq as a contractor to put in telecommunications lines. He might be gone the middle of next month. He is ex-military so is "street smart". Then I told him since he knew, I would give him his Secret Santa gift tonight. I gave him the muffins and he said Oatmeal and apples are his favorite. I told him to let his wife have some. He looked at me cross eyed, and said, Um they are going on the front seat of my truck next to me, lol. I guess we know what we will be sending him in boxes after he leaves.
Since this is our first year, I didn't know what to expect, but we are truly receiving the blessings of giving. It is truly better to give than to receive.
