Kitchen Tips and subsitutes!Looking for healthy alternatives and subsitutes to things like Butter(or if you use margarine) and Corn Syrup?

Agave Nectar is a naturally sweet nectar from the Agave tree. It is a terrific subsitute anywhere that it asks for Corn Syrup. I have also used it in combination with peanut butter to make "Krispy Treats" as an alternative for marshmallows.

Coconut Oil is a terrific substitute for Butter. Now for things like cookies, I don't recommend it but for the most part you can use it in place of butter. Also if you google it, there are awesome health benefits of coconut oil. Now my husband doesn't like coconut, but this terrific oil he is okay with. We have used it so much, I buy it by the gallon, usually off of ebay for about 1/2 the price.

Agave nectar has a fructose content much higher than high-fructose corn syrup.
Do you use the same amount of that as you do corn syrup? And can you just buy it at a health food store?
I use Agave and coconut oil, too!!! Coconut oil is amazing in baked goods and I also use it on my skin. So many are afraid of saturated fats, but from what I have read (I have a whole book on coconut oil)this sat. fat is a great one!!!
I have never used either of those. I probably wouldn't use coconut oil because I really don't coconut. But the other I might consider. Thanks for bringing this up.
